Student-led conferences are scheduled for the week of January 23-26th, which is a change from the previous years. After careful examination of our students’ portfolios and preparation for passages, we determined having final products and evidence of the process for getting to high quality work was missing in portfolios due to the timing of student-led conferences. Therefore, this year we have shifted student-led conferences to a later date and are having a teacher parent check-in October 31st. As a collective staff, we are working towards improving classroom communication on a class and individual level. Kindergarten through 5th grade teachers will be contacting you about setting up a time to meet with them on October 31st. Each meeting will only last 15 minutes so we can ensure every parent has an opportunity to meet with the teacher and gain an understanding of their child's current performance level. We are striving for 100% participation!
Our BookPeople Bookfair is October 31st-November 1st
This is a fundraiser for our school. It provides an opportunity for students to shop for rich texts, but also provides us with books for our school that are needed. The Parent CREW will be reaching out for help for set-up and clean up. Stay tuned next week to see the times and dates of our Bookfair.
As we work towards our long term goals of building a sustainable school, we continue to examine our budget and the students’ needs. As you may know, we contract with Moscow School District for bussing. Currently, we pay approximately $30 per student a month, even if a child rides the bus one time during that month. We understand this service is a real need for many families. However, if it is not necessary for your family, we appreciate your consideration.
