Gallery Night is a school-wide event where families, community members and school partners act as an authentic audience. The purpose is to learn more about the work of the students, the school as a whole, and honor student learning. We begin by gathering together in the multi-purpose room. Families then travel through the classrooms to view all the work of our students. The K-5th Gallery will be held at Palouse Prairie from 6-7 PM and the 6th-8th grade Gallery and 8th grade Graduation will be held at the 1912 Center from 7:30-8:30 PM. See attached invitation.
8th Grade Final Word Passage Presentation
This year, the graduating 8th grade class will be conducting a Final Word Passage Presentation. Final word presentations are not evaluated. Students craft a narrative of significant personal growth during their time at Palouse Prairie and their readiness to move into the next phase of their education. They will present their final word in front of their families, teachers, and middle school community during graduation. Individuals that have had an impact on the students’ lives will have a chance to speak about the students’ character and personal growth. Childcare will be provided during this event.
We have a fund started by a donor who challenges other families to contribute cash or in-kind to help the school establish a tradition recognizing these important transitions. If you would like to contribute towards this fund, please contact Jeneille Branen firstname.lastname@example.org
Extra Yearbooks and t-shirts will be sold for a reduced price during Gallery Night!
Enrollment Packets are Due
Enrollment Packets are attached. Please fill out and return to the office by June 3rd. If you would like a hard copy sent home with your student, please let the office know as soon as possible. To save time and energy, download them and save to your computer for future use. You may also fill them out and email to the office: email@example.com They will print them out for you!
We understand that your children are your most important assets. That's why we know you won't mind taking 5 to 10 minutes out of your busy schedule to fill out these forms that we need in order to take care of your children, keep them safe, and be in compliance with state and federal law.
Please remember to pay off your lunch account balance before the end of the school year. Lunch account balance emails will be sent out on Wednesday; keep in mind that these balances will not include Thursday, the final school day's lunch cost. Achievement Reports will be sent out to families after any outstanding balances are paid.
Money for Palouse Prairie is in the Bag!
We have had so much success with our Schoola Clothing Drive (raised over $1500 so far) we are opening our doors again. Bring in your nearly new used clothes for toddlers and women by June 12th. Women's handbags and shoes are also welcome.
What not to bring: men's clothing, infant (under 12 mo) clothing, sleepwear, underwear or socks, non-clothing items.
If you can't get your clothes in to the school or if you find things over the summer, you can still help us out anytime you like. Simply request a bag and send the clothing directly from your home. Here's a link to request a bag. Choose Palouse Prairie as the school to benefit and more money will be on the way to support the great adventures at PPS. Tell your friends and family to do the same!
