You will find the Enrollment Forms for the 2015-2016 school year attached to this post. Please fill out the forms for each of your students and return them by June 3rd at the very latest. We have created forms that you may fill out electronically to save you time and energy. We recommend you save them to your computer so you may update them each year instead of retyping everything.
To make things even easier, you can drop them off in the office when you come to Gallery Night or email them to the office! email@example.com
We know that filling out lots of forms is no one's favorite thing to do, but please keep in mind that all the information we request is important to keep your children safe, healthy and happy. We appreciate your prompt attention to these important forms!
Gallery Night is a school-wide event where families, community members and school partners act as an authentic audience. The purpose is to learn more about the work of the students, the school as a whole, and honor student learning. We begin by gathering together in the multi-purpose room. Families then travel through the classrooms to view all the work of our students. The K-5th Gallery will be held at Palouse Prairie from 6-7 PM and the 6th-8th grade Gallery and 8th grade Graduation will be held at the 1912 Center from 7:30-8:30 PM. See attached invitation.
8th Grade Final Word Passage Presentation
This year, the graduating 8th grade class will be conducting a Final Word Passage Presentation. Final word presentations are not evaluated. Students craft a narrative of significant personal growth during their time at Palouse Prairie and their readiness to move into the next phase of their education. They will present their final word in front of their families, teachers, and middle school community during graduation at the 1912 Center. Individuals that have had an impact on the students’ lives will have a chance to speak about the students’ character and personal growth.

I have spent my professional career in various business management and finance/accounting positions.
I have worked as a Controller, Business Analyst, Operations Manager, Financial Manager, and currently as a Business Consultant to business owners throughout the State. In the past, I have volunteered my time on a credit union’s supervisory committee as well as served as treasurer for a successful start-up non-profit organization that promotes the continued enjoyment of Idaho’s hiking trails. I enjoy spending my time with my wife (Melissa), two children (Magnolia and River), and dog doing just about anything in the outdoors. My hobbies include fly-fishing, backpacking, hiking, travelling, camping and rafting.
Jesica Sweedler DeHart:
I have been asked every year since we arrived in Moscow if I would consider joining the board and I am ready to make the commitment. I was on four school and educational boards for the 5 years prior to moving to Moscow and thus needed to take a break. I have a B.S. in Environmental and Adventure Education and a Masters in Educ. (ABD). I was a school director, teacher and administrator in my life before Moscow. I am ready to serve the school in this capacity and appreciate being given a few years to ready myself. I am particularly excited to see the school looking for a new site and would like to be involved in this process and in solidifying the school's long term sustainability. I have had extensive leadership and facilitation training that I find incredibly useful in board participation. I know this is a big commitment and I do not take it lightly and thus wanted to wait until I had the time, energy and perspective with which to commit.
As the parent of 4 Palouse Prairie School students, I have been involved with the school since it opened 2009. I am deeply committed to the success of Palouse Prairie and am passionate about the high quality Expeditionary Learning education that our children receive. I have volunteered extensively at the school and have been a member of the Board of directors for the past two years. I am currently the board vice-president. I would like to serve another term on the board so that I can continue to support Palouse Prairie to carry out its mission and goals for the future.
Although I am currently a stay-at-home parent, prior to having children I worked as a research scientist studying the biological basis of learning and memory. I have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Biology. I have been involved with several non-profit and youth organizations in the Moscow community.
