Facebook Merge: We have greatly enjoyed sharing information about what’s happening at Palouse Prairie on our Facebook page. We have also enjoyed all the posts and comments from our families. Unfortunately it became clear recently that we had two Palouse Prairie FB pages running simultaneously - one official page under the name Palouse Prairie Charter school and one unofficial under Palouse Prairie School. Please be sure that you are viewing and posting to Palouse Prairie Charter School. The two pages have been merged, however all the posts from Palouse Prairie School have been lost. As a fun way to celebrate the new year, we’d love it if you looked back through your FB wall and see if you had posted fun things to the Palouse Prairie School FB page - things that would not be on our official page - and repost them to the Palouse Prairie Charter School page. As we start 2017 we can look back nostalgically on the past as we look forward to the future! Thank you and we wish you all the best in the coming year!
Outdoor Temperatures: Students that are not prepared for outdoor weather, will not be allowed to go outside during school. Please encourage your child to dress in appropriate cold weather clothing. If teachers plan outdoors activities (snowshoeing, sledding, etc.) with students, your child must be dressed in appropriate clothing (snowsuits, gloves, hat, winter jacket) to participate. If the temperature or wind chill is at or below 10 degrees, no outdoor activities will be allowed.
After School Pickup: Please be aware that the afternoon bus needs room to maneuver past vehicles on Levick Street in order to get our students to the middle school in a timely manner. When picking up your student, please pull completely off the road and avoid double parking.
Busing and Pick Up/Drop Off: Please read the attached letter from PPCS’s Wellness Committee regarding pick up and drop off at the school and busing guidelines. Thank you!
Winter Activities: Moscow Parks and Recreation offers numerous opportunities for your family to be healthy and active this winter and spring. Come into the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center (HIRC) to play basketball in our warm, dry gym or stretch in our Multi-Purpose Room. Sign up your kids for our 1st – 4th grade winter basketball league, spring micro-soccer, youth T-ball/coach pitch baseball or girl’s fast pitch softball. Your family can watch the biggest football game of the year (or just the commercials) in a kid-friendly environment; doors to the Eggan Youth Center will open 30 minutes before kickoff on February 5th and there will be lots of food – all for free. Dance the night away at our Father Daughter Princess Ball on February 11th or let us teach your kids the ins and outs of Idaho’s Fish and Game regulations, hunting safety and ethics with our Hunter Education Course. You can find information on prices or register for these activities and more at our website, http://moscowrecreation.sportsites.com/Player/HomePlayer.aspx. You may also register in person at the HIRC, 1724 East F Street, Moscow. If you have questions please call our staff at (208) 883-7084.
