PPSEL's All Day K Program PDF Print E-mail

We are excited to let you know more about PPSEL's All Day K Program, an application for which can be found online here:

All Day K SY14 Application

The State of Idaho only funds a half-day Kindergarten program, but a great deal of research, and our own experiences, teach us that participation in ALL DAY K programs greatly benefit students and help them be well prepared for the later primary grades, both academically as well as socially.

Our program offers eligible students:

* A small class size with personalized attention from an experienced Kindergarten teacher.
* Participation in enrichment activities that include health and fitness, music or art.
* 40-50% more time for instruction and for positive social interaction than children experience in a half- day program.
* An increased opportunity for our teachers to know each student and to tailor the learning environment to meet each student’s needs.

The All Day K program is a balance of small group, large group, and individual activities that engage children in intellectually stimulating activities while increasing each child's opportunity to learn the core curriculum.

Nature Explorers is an after school program for active and curious kids who love to spend time discovering the outdoors. Under the direction of Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute (PCEI) educators, Nature Explorers go on field trips to local natural areas such as the UI Arboretum, Phillips Farm, Idler’s Rest, Robinson Park, and more, learning about the local natural history through hikes, games, and fun activities. Nature Explorers operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school to a pick-up time between 5:00pm and 5:30pm at the PCEI campus in Moscow.

Please review the Parent Handbook for program details, dates, cost, and enrollment forms. This handbook can be found via the link above or hard copies at the Palouse Prairie School office.
